What is Summa?
Summa is a financial management app for individuals and small businesses. It brings your balances, spending, budgets, bills and goals into one view and turns them into clear reports.
Who can use the platform?
Anyone who wants a clearer view of their personal finances, and freelancers or small business owners who want to understand business cash flow. You can use personal and business tools in one account.
Which countries are supported?
Summa starts in the Gulf. The exact countries open at launch will be confirmed here. Join the waitlist and we will email you when it opens in yours.
Can I use Summa in Arabic?
Yes. The website and the app work fully in Arabic and English, including right-to-left layouts, and you can switch at any time.
Does Summa give financial or investment advice?
No. Summa shows and organises your information, and articles on this site are general education. For advice on your own situation, speak to a licensed professional.
Does it replace accounting or tax software?
No. Summa helps you see and plan your finances. It does not keep statutory accounts or file VAT or tax returns. You can export reports to share with your accountant.
Accounts and banks
Can I connect my bank account?
Yes, if you bank with one of the seven supported UAE banks: First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank, Mashreq or HSBC UAE. Summa reads balances and transactions only after you give permission, and you can remove it at any time. Accounts at other banks can be added manually.
Which banks and institutions are supported?
Seven banks in the UAE: First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Mashreq and HSBC UAE. A bank is added to this list only once its connection works.
Can I track expenses manually?
Yes. You can add balances and transactions by hand on every plan, for cash, unsupported accounts or anything you prefer not to connect.
Can I keep personal and business finances separate?
Yes. You can mark accounts, income and expenses as personal or business and view each on its own or together.
Is there a plan for small businesses?
Yes. The Business plan adds a business cash flow view, business expense categories and reports you can share with your accountant.
Plans and billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free plan covers the dashboard, manual tracking, a few budgets and a monthly summary, with no time limit.
How does billing work?
Paid plans are billed in advance for each period. Prices, currency, payment methods and any VAT are shown before you pay. Final prices are confirmed at launch.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, any time, from your account settings. You keep paid features until the end of the period you have paid for, then move to the free plan.
Data and security
How is my financial data protected?
We collect only what the product needs, never sell it and let you control connections. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and bank connections are made only with your permission. Further details, such as where data is stored and any certifications, appear on the Security page once verified.
Can I export my financial information?
Yes. Paid plans can export transactions and reports. Any account can request a copy of its data.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Deleting your account deletes your financial data. We keep only records the law requires, such as invoices for paid plans.
